Beverley Highgate Dental Practice’s team of highly experienced dental professionals Includes dentists and a support team of nurses, oral health educators, treatment coordinators and receptionists to make your appointment as pleasant as possible and to ensure that you get the best possible service.

Our dentists have a combined 131 years’ experience and our practice management, reception and dental teams have over 160 years’ experience between them – that’s an average of 10 years each!

As the first and last stage of the patients’ journey, our receptionists play a vital role in giving patients a warm, friendly and professional welcome that sets the standard for the quality of care that patients receive at Beverley Highgate Dental Practice.

Our dentists and nurses are all registered with the GDC (General Dental Council) and undergo regular training. In addition to dental training, the team’s Continuing Professional Development programme includes yearly training on how to use the onsite Automated External Defibrillator.

Our Dentists

Jonathan Glassby

Principal Dentist GDC 251898

Originally from the local area, Jonathan attended Pocklington School and returned to Beverley after qualifying at Peninsula Dental School in Devon and Cornwall. Jonathan joined the Highgate Team in 2017 and has taken extended training to offer dental implants. Following the retirement of Highgate’s two principal dentists in 2021, Jonathan became the principal and owner. Since Jonathan has taken ownership, he is committed to the founding principles of Highgate which is to provide each individual patient with a professional, friendly experience in a relaxed environment. With fresh ideas, Jonathan is refurbishing the practice and has already installed our computer systems and digital imagery for xrays. In his spare time Jonathan is a keen skier and motor car enthusiast. However, ultimately spending quality time with his wife and young family is paramount and he’s not afraid of finger painting and glitter!

Dave Davies

Associate Dentist GDC 45088

Dave grew up in Lincolnshire and qualified from Newcastle in 1971, he came to Beverley in April 1973 and has remained at Beverley Highgate Dental Practice LLP ever since. Dave became a principal in 1980 and in 2021 became an associate dentist and intends to continue work for the foreseeable future. Dave is married to Wendy with four boys and two grandchildren. He runs and cycles regularly and can still touch his toes!

Christine Matthews BDS

Associate Dentist GDC 56636

Christine graduated from her home town university of Newcastle in 1982 and joined Beverley Highgate Dental Practice LLP in Beverley in the autumn of that year. Christine lives with her husband and has two grown up children. They both make the most of their time and enjoy walking in the Yorkshire Dales and exploring a little further abroad to find the sunshine. Christine is a keen retail shopper and loves to spoil her two young grandchildren.
Christine Matthews practices in General family dentistry and some cosmetic work. Christine also offers a service which specialises in sleep apnoea and anti snoring devices.

Karoly Cseh (Charles)

Associate Dentist GDC 170337

Charles is originally from Hungary and joined the Highgate team in 2021 following Mr Burke’s retirement. Charles has vast experience in dentistry with keen interest in root canal treatment. Charles lives locally with his wife and three daughters who keep him busy with dance recitals, gymnastics and swimming lessons.

Kath Stahl

Kath Stahl attended Pocklington School through an academic scholarship, and went on to study Dentistry at the University of Liverpool, where she received an award from the Royal College of Surgeons for her Clinical Skills. She has a friendly and professional approach to dentistry, and is especially good at communicating with our anxious patients. In her spare time, she enjoys playing piano, drawing, and competitive sports.

Henry Furbank

Henry, originally from the local area, actually came to Highgate for work experience in his younger years and eventually joined our team in 2021. Working one day a week, Henry has a keen interest in Invisalign and Root canal treatment. Henry has recently got married and enjoys countryside walks with their dogs and visiting the Lake District.

Fiona Steels

After qualifying from Manchester university in 1999 Fiona soon set up her own family practice. After growing the practice locally for a decade she decided to sell the practice and focus on her own young family whilst still working part time looking after her patients. Now Fiona’s family are grown up she’s finally got the time to spend more time on looking after patients old and new, whilst also spending time out in nature with the dogs or enjoying the garden or making craft candles, with a nice glass of red!

Harminder Kaur

Harminder qualified from the University of Birmingham with a BDS Honours degree, and has since built an abundance of experience and further knowledge attending courses, keeping her skills up to date providing treatment with the latest techniques and equipment. Dr Kaur enjoys providing general dentistry and working with anxious patients putting them at ease and providing patients with a pleasant and relaxed dental visit. While working at Highgate, Dr Kaur is also currently undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry and Postgraduate Diploma in Aligner Orthodontics in London, to provide a unique service to all of her patients and aims to cater to all their individual needs. In her spare time Harminder enjoys keeping healthy in the gym and loves travelling around the world experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. Dr Kaur looks forward to welcoming you to the dental practice.

Rosen Ampirski

After qualifying in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2011, Rosen has been working as a general dentist, except for one year which he spent working in a hospital, he is passionate about his work and helps people to overcome dental fears. Rosens main area of interest is restorative dentistry and he is dedicated to helping patients smile again confidently. . Rosen has completed Post Graduate Certificate courses for Restorative and Operative dentistry with Prof. Tipton in Manchester as well as 10 day post graduate endodontic course.

Scarlett Poppy Schultz

Becoming a Dental Therapist is something Scarlett has been working towards for many years, starting as a Dental Nurse, completing a number of post qualifications and finally going back to studying at the University of Central Lancashire. She particularly enjoys giving children a positive experience at the dentist, creating confident future patients, as well as helping dentally anxious patients overcome their fears with a friendly approach. She is trained to provide preventive care, hygiene and gum treatment, as well as restorative work. Since finishing university, Scarlett has moved back to her home in Yorkshire where she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching live music and camping trips.

Emma barker

Dental Therapist GDC 276607

Emma joined the team in March 2024. She graduated from Newcastle university with bachelor of science in oral dental science. Her goal is to equip patients with the best clinical advice to obtain oral health. She can provide a wide range of dental treatments including gum treatment and fillings. Emma was born and raised in Yorkshire. Her interests include travelling and musicals. She is huge animal lover and her spare time is spent going on walking adventures with her border collie sidekick Sam.

Ellie Fox

Ellie had worked as a Dental Nurse for many years before deciding to undertake further clinical training at Teesside University to become a Dental Therapist. Dental therapists are highly trained to provide preventive care and advice, in addition to a wide range of clinical treatments. Ellie has a particular interest in treating patients with a caring approach. Her skills will be used to provide a range of services to help improve people’s oral health.

Katherine Foster

Dental Hygienist GDC 278908

Kath started her career in dentistry as a dental nurse in 1985 and qualified as a dental hygienist in Manchester in 1991. Kath moved to Yorkshire and married a local farmer in 1996. They now have 3 grown up children, 3 dogs, a herd of cows, a flock of sheep, and some arable land which keeps her husband and son busy. Kath joined the practice early 2024. She has a particular interest in treating periodontal disease and nervous patients, and likes to work with patients planning to undergo complex restorative work and implants to ensure long term health and stability of the investment. In her spare time, Kath enjoys drawing and painting, is a member of a car club and spends many a weekend driving through the countryside with the music cranked up.

Tara Waites

Practice Manager

Tara Waites has newly joined the Highgate team in 2022. Tara has come from a dentistry background, qualifying as a dental nurse in 2014 and progressing to practice manager 2 years later. Tara has managed dental practices for 5 years and continues to add the years on. Tara enjoys making memories with her partner and son and socialising with family and friends.

Evan Catt

Assistant Manager GDC 235568

Evan is our Assistant Manager, originally joining Highgate in 2012 as a trainee nurse, since qualifying as a dental nurse has also completed further training in fluoride application and become an oral health educator. Evan works with Henry assisting with invisalign cases.

Our Nurses

Carol Hamlet RDN

GDC 121180

Carol joined the team in 1976 and has grown with Highgate over the years. With her many years of dental nursing experience, she is a familiar and friendly face at the practice. Currently, she works in our decontamination room, ensuring that instruments are thoroughly cleaned. In her spare time, Carol enjoys spending time with her five grandchildren, gardening, and reading when she has the chance to relax.

Vicky Kennedy RDN

Vicky joined Highgate in 1999. Having completed her training as a dental nurse, Vicky extended her development by completing her dental radiography training. In her spare time enjoys family time with her husband, two girls and her rescue dog.

Jennifer Edgington RDN

GDC 276319

Jen originally qualified in 2000 but retrained after moving to England in 2012. Jen achieved her NEBDN qualification in 2018. Since then she has qualified in Fluoride application, Impression taking, become an Oral Health Champion and now works alongside Charles in practice. Outside of work she enjoys meeting with friends and spending time with her family.

Lian Murphy RDN

Lian joined Highgate as a trainee dental nurse in 2019. Lian had previously dental nursed in the Armed Forces. Having returned to the local area and retrained and qualified as a dental nurse, Lian works with Jonathan Glassby and assists with implants. Lian enjoys time with her husband and adult daughter in between crafting projects.

Maisie Johnston RDN

Maisie has worked at Highgate since 2021 and has been nursing for over 4 years. She enjoys working in surgery with Kath Stahl and supports the reception team the rest of the week. In her spare time she enjoys long walks with her dog and holidays with friends and family.

Keli Norfolk RDN

Keli joined our practice in 2021 as a trainee dental nurse, bringing with her many years of experience in the care sector. Her gentle and compassionate approach has made her a valued member of the Highgate team. Keli works alongside Fiona in surgery, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for all our patients. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking in nature, spending quality time with her dog, and unwinding with a good movie.

Holly Nicholson RDN

Holly joined Highgate as a trainee dental nurse following successful grades in her GCSEs in 2021, she qualified in 2023 and now works alongside our Hygienists. Holly has previously volunteered with the COVID-19 vaccination program and enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dog.

Chloe Edgar RDN

Chloe joined the team in October 2022 having previously worked at another dental practice. Chloe is dedicated to making each visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible for all patients whilst working alongside our dentists/hygienists. Outside of work, Chloe enjoys spending her time with family and friends as well as keeping fit in the gym or taking her dogs for long walks.

Molly Jackson RDN

Molly Jackson joined Highgate as a trainee dental nurse in 2021 and is now qualified nurse. When Molly is not in surgery she works on reception. Molly enjoys spending time with her friends and dog who is always a live wire.

Elizabeth Powers

Trainee Dental Nurse

Elizabeth joined us January 2024 as a trainee dental nurse. Elizabeth is enjoying learning new knowledge and skills daily and really looking forward to qualifying in the next two years. In her spare time, she enjoys looking after her family’s 20 year-old fell pony called Compo who they’ve had since she was 5 years old! On a weekend Elizabeth spends hours braiding his mane and tail before taking him for long hacks in the countryside in Walkington.

Lexie Todd

Trainee Dental Nurse

Lexie joined the team in July 2024 as a trainee dental Nurse. Lexie is looking forward to developing skills and knowledge in dentistry while supporting the team and ensuring a positive experience for every patient. In her spare time, Lexie enjoys looking after her cats and attending music concerts.

Evie Wilkinson

Trainee Dental Nurse

Evie joined our practice in June 2024 as a trainee dental nurse and is eager to expand her skills and knowledge in the field. She is passionate about delivering excellent patient care and is committed to becoming a dedicated and skilled dental nurse. Outside of work, Evie likes to explore new places with her family and experimenting in the kitchen, where she enjoys cooking and baking.

Olivia Wilson

Olivia joined our team in July 2024, eager to embark on her journey towards becoming a dental nurse. With a passion for learning, she is excited to dive into the hands-on experience and expand her knowledge in the field. Outside of work, Olivia enjoys unwinding with a good book, caring for her two dogs, and spending time with her family and friends.

Ellie Craven

Treatment Coordinator

Ellie joined us here at Highgate Dental Practice as our Treatment Coordinator in June 2023. Ellie has a real passion for helping and supporting patients throughout their journey so that they leave us feeling confident about their treatment. With a special interest in dental implants, Ellie takes pride in offering personalised support and guidance to patients undergoing implant treatment, ensuring they feel informed and comfortable every step of the way. Outside of work, Ellie loves getting creative in the kitchen with cooking and baking. She also enjoys weekend getaways with friends and peaceful walks with her two dogs.

Rachel Parkinson

Head Receptionist

Rachel led a reception team for several years at another practice before joining us in July 2023. Rachel loves meeting new people and really cares that the Patients journey at the practice is the best it can be. In her spare time, Rachel loves walking her French bulldog Hugo and going to the gym.

 

Aimee Seaton

Receptionist

Aimee joined Highgate practice in July 2023 after working 12 years in the dental industry. Previously working as a Dental nurse she has now joined the practice working alongside the reception team. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and taking her German shepherd for long walks.

 

Katrina Clayton

Receptionist

Katrina joined the team here at Highgate in July 2023, having worked in Financial Services for many years. She enjoys meeting new people and working amongst a team. Katrina prides herself in providing a first class service to patients and supporting colleagues in ensuring the Practice runs smoothly. In her spare time, Katrina enjoys cooking and socialising with friends going to the gym and hiking.

 

Jackie Burley

Jackie joined the team in November 2023 having previously worked in retail for many years. She enjoys meeting new people, making people feel welcome and works well being part of a team. In her spare time, she enjoys spending it with friends and family and having trips away.
